September is replete with friendly invitations, and you can add a tour of some of the most delightful local gardens to your calendar.
Lower Cape Historical Society’s annual Secret Garden Tour, a benefit for the historic Latimer House and its programs, is Saturday, September 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, September 25 from noon to 4 p.m. Secret Garden Tour ticket holders receive a tour map and can visit the four featured gardens in any sequence.
Ticket holders are also invited to attend Brenda Kincade’s “Art of Boxwood Gardening” presentation on Saturday, September 24, 11 a.m., at the Historic Latimer House Courtyard Garden.
A Japanese maple tree provided by Ash’s Japanese Maple Nursery in Hampstead will be raffled and 100 ticket buyers will receive a green maple seedling.
The tour will be held regardless of weather.
